Marriage.

I’m sitting in a car with my husband and another couple. We are married (duh!) and so are they. The interesting thing is how different our marriages are. This is the first road-trip we take with another couple and the things I am finding out about my own marriage is fascinating.

Exhibit 1- the hand-hold. The hubby and I hold hands all the time. No matter who is around… That makes me so comfortable… And proud.
Exhibit 2- the potty breaks. It’s like we are programmed to do it at the same time.
Exhibit 3- eating. We have the art of
eating on the go down to a T. S drives and I feed… My job is more important.

Although all of those things are important- I think mostly they are just cute. The fact that for the last 5 years and three quarters of my life I have shared my moments of happiness and my sadness with this one person makes me extremely proud. It makes me smile to think that I can now look back and say “remember when…” and have actual valid, valuable memories with the individual sitting at the driver seat next to me.

When I was a teenager or even a little girl I use to dream about nights like tonight. With how fast-paced life is, we sometimes tend to forget about our childhood dreams… This happens to me… But with a simple 3-squeeze hand-hold… It all just comes right back into perspective.

I’m one lucky girl.

You see… I have a weakness…

My weakness… Men with Flip-Flops… or thong sandals (see above picture for reference). I like my husband in Flip-Flops especially. Unfortunately, above mentioned husband does NOT wear flip-flops often enough! I bought these for him some time ago, imagining endless nights of sexiness… in the form of a husband wearing these while… seductively… washing my dishes. Guess what? That NEVER happens! I got lucky today…. because its FREEZING (the floor is COLD!) and the flip-flops… were “conveniently” within reach. YAY ME! All of the sudden all my dreams came true! (I know! I know! I don’t get out much!).

IN OTHER NEWS… we made it home today in record time. It was nice to spend a lazy afternoon at home before having to go back to work. This week promises to be busy and with the hubby wanting to go to the gym *at least* 4 times a week… I’m already tired!

I have a confession to make… like many couples our age… Superman and I want to have children… someday. Well I have this “hobby” of researching names… We have the perfect boy name (it’s perfect for us!) yet we CANNOT figure out the perfect girl name. I know we are not on a deadline… I am NOT pregnant and it may not happen for a while… but the fact that we have a boy name and NOT a girl name… makes me uneasy… call me crazy… but I am a bit of a perfectionist. SO why am I telling you this? Well because today, while killing time for S to get out of class, I went to a bookstore. The store I went too was closing and had EVERY book at 70% off. It was a nerd’s (yes I call myself that!) paradise! Apart from getting a bunch of fun stuff I got a baby name book… for future pets, for my friends to use and yes FOR US… It’s thick! It ONLY cost me 2 dollars! Guess what? I spent the entire road-trip down from Tampa going through the girl section of the book… I read a few out-loud to S… but NOTHING stuck… we didn’t accomplish anything… BUT we had TONS of fun poking fun at the names that did NOT work out… there’s some “different” stuff out there.

What a FABULOUS DAY!
