Speechless. My husband left me speechless.

I just got this text from my husband. It’s so sweet he left me speechless… If you know me… You know that’s a difficult task!

Until next time…

Families…

Families come in all shapes and sizes. This past weekend was a weekend of family and I am so very grateful for it.

The hubby and I come from two very different cultures. We come from different backgrounds, but the one thing we have in common is our love for family.

The Supers don’t define family by blood… although I have to say that we got VERY LUCKY with our blood family. Both sets of parents are amazing people who not only shower us with love but they are people who would go the distance and risk everything they have for their offspring (US!).  This weekend we were blessed enough to be able to spend a bit of time with our lovely blood relatives as well as the family that we have chosen. It was full circle and 100% rewarding.

The Supers define family by those people (or animals) who complete our lives. Today I want to thank each and every single one of you who are members of our FAMILY. If you have touched our lives in any way we thank you. If you have cared for us in a time of weakness, if you have celebrated with us in our best days, if you have been there through thick and thin, if you have come and gone from our lives… THANK YOU. Thank you for making an imprint in our lives and in our hearts. Thank you for being a piece of our family puzzle. After all we (The Supers) believe that we are all one big part of a greater family. We are all in this together…

So from my peeps to yours…

today we say: If it wasn’t for your role in our lives… we would not be THIS COMPLETE…

You Rock! Keep reading… keep commenting… keep providing advice… keep praying… keep loving… we WELCOME IT with OPEN ARMS.

Until next time…

Your friendly neighborhood SuperWife. :-)

A whole lotta’ LOVE.

Howdy!

It’s been quite a while since I’ve written an actual “word” post. We’ve been super busy living a SUPER life. I have to say no complaints on this side of town. Everyday I thank God more and more for everything that He has given my little family. Today more than EVER.

Valentine’s day started out with a bang. My amazing husband made me heart-shaped pancakes…

and a heart-shaped omelette…

We had a yummy, quiet breakfast alone. We laughed, we joked, we enjoyed our day and we talked about how thankful we were for having each other on this special day.

After breakfast my Super Hubby gave me my presents. As you all know we have been saving money this year, and we are doing very good… so we kept our presents to a minimum… BUT  a girl can ALWAYS receive flowers and balloons RIGHT?

I also got MAJOR bling.

Ok… so maybe my “bling” came on top of a cupcake on a box of 6 for $3.99 but STILL! It’s a ring… and its pretty big…

The rest of the day went by so smoothly. We watched shows on our DVR, I uploaded photos onto our computer, we did some remodeling (maybe more like moving furniture from one room to another but still!) and then we had yummy pizza for dinner… All while admiring all of the Valentine’s Day Fabulosity going on in our household.

The balloons were definetly my favorite part of the day.

Overall the day was amazing. All the hearts, all the love. My favorite day turned out to be fantastic.

But… I must say not EVERYTHING was picture perfect.

That hot mess you see above… was my husband’s omelette. Poor thing was so concentrated in making my day special that his food was a complete disaster.

Thank you hubs for making today unforgettable.

I hope you all had an AMAZING day.

Until next time…

Goose Down…

Today’s post is all about my newest acquisition… a goose down comforter. Now I HAVE NO IDEA WHY IT IS CALLED GOOSE DOWN… I can GUARANTEE YOU that there are no Gooses (I KNOW I KNOW IT’S Geese!) in my comforter. I keep telling people I got a down comforter and they keep correcting me saying that I have a goose down comforter… and hey I’m all about keeping the peace so if they want to think there are geese in there… well let them think there are… and by them I DON’T mean the voices in my head… those tend to agree with me.

So back to the important thing… I got a goose comforter… wait… I got a down comforter… wait… well YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN and if you don’t of my goodness you have no idea what you are MISSING. Stop everything you are doing RIGHT NOW and run yourself over to whatever store sells this things and get yourself one… actually get two or three… because once the word gets out… these things will go extinct.

I bet you are thinking I’m crazy… well let me tell you, I’m not. I’m just a Florida girl with a husband who has the mentality of an Eskimo. He sets our a/c to 59 at night… even in the winter… so he deserves to have to sleep with a level 4 down comforter. Ok… so if you know anything about down comforters you know that a level 4 is SUPER warm and incredibly expensive. Like first born expensive… well NOT FOR ME! I got my level 4 FAKE goose down comforter with the same yummy fluffyness as the fancy ones at Ikea for $29.99. Have I told you about my love for Ikea?

I wish this blog thing was 3D or 4D or tactile… because you would not leave my bed… which may not be a great thing… because with a consistent 82 of you reading daily and over 900 of you who have visited my site in the last month… well that may be a bit… um… how do I say this… GERMY. But let’s say I bathe all of you in antibacterial liquid and I do let you come on over and reach your pretty little arm through my computer and let you touch my down comforter… I guarantee you that you will not want to leave and that you will forever find reasons to come visit me… (I take bribes in the form of chocolate if you DO want to cop a feel at my comforter!).

So now I leave you with my wild, unruly, unmade bed. My amazingly comfortable and warm and goosey bed. Really… it just doesn’t get any BETTER than this…

Well actually… IT DOES…

THIS is as good as it gets! He’s installing DVD racks for me… and I get to sit here and watch… IN my goosey bed.

I totally have to go now…

Until next time…

Empowe(RED) for Haiti…

Today’s post is all about the color RED. The above picture shows you the shirt I wore today. This picture was taken early this morning… even though the timestamp says a different date/time (the geeks, actually more like the ONLY geek, in my life is currently fixing that!).

I’m not talking about my shirt just because I like it (although I gotta say it’s a pretty cool shirt!). I’m telling you about my shirt because I wore it with a purpose. Today was wear Red for Haiti day. I don’t know if this was a national event or a worldwide event but when I got the invite on Facebook I couldn’t help but do it. Why you ask… well because even though my wearing a red shirt is not changing the situation in Haiti, it is bringing attention to the problem.

I have to say that I am very proud of the place I call home. I have kept up with the news and I am happy to say that, although not enough, many people have mobilized their communities to help. Doctors and nurses that I work with have already left to Haiti. At work we are gathering supplies to donate. My family and friends have all made monetary donations. My girlfriend donated blood yesterday. If my inner circle is doing THIS much, imagine all of our resources TOGETHER!

So today wasn’t about wearing RED. Today was about letting people know WHY you were wearing red. Today was about having conversations with those around you about how you could help. Today was about praying for the lives that we have lost and sending positive energy to those who are currently suffering. Today was about wishing that our doctors, nurses and volunteers have the strength to keep on keeping on.

Today I wasn’t just proud to be an American… Today I was proud to be a citizen of the WORLD.

I urge you to do ANYTHING you can to help…

Thank you!

Until next time…

Someone ate my blog post! Frustrations… And Roadtrips!

Gggrrrr!!! That’s me growling!!! I just wrote the longest (and I think somewhat funny) post I have ever written from my iPhone wordpress application… I added the photo, life was good… I pressed the button to publish and it confirmed the publication! All excited I went to the actual site… And guess what?!?!?!?!!!! It wasn’t there! So being the understanding, patient social worker that I am… I gave my blog the benefit of the doubt… BUT Noooooo!!!! It had to prove me wrong! Someone ate my blog post! I hope it was wordpress and NOT my iPhone… Because Mr. iPhone and I are having problems in our relationship lately and we are thisclose to seeking counseling… Anywhoo… I’m PRETTY upset!!!

So if the other post does appear on the website… I apologize if I say things twice… But here I go again… In a summarized… And less funny way i tell you about my love/hate relationship with roadtrips…

Hate:
* packing
* sitting still for hours on end
* packing for superman
* fighting sleep in boring roads
* packing
* not having my own bed to sleep in!
* hotels never give you enough shampoo (or I have a big head)
* oh! And packing sucks!

Love:
* conversations with superman
* cat naps
* junk food
* sight-seeing
* looking out with Chloe (our radar detector, yup named after the chloe on smallville) for bad Lex Luther cops.
* looking into other people’s cars and imagining what their lives are like!

Those are my love/hate feelings about road-trippin’.

Do you hate road-trippin’? Do you love it?

Until next time!

Apparently that’s the satellite view of where we are…
