Ch… ch… ch… Changes…

I think we’ve established that I am a social worker. This is the profession I chose out of love and passion for my field. I chose it because my mentor really said it was an amazing field. I can’t thank her enough for introducing me to this amazing adventure.

Of course, every good has its bad. On a daily basis I am in touch with everyone’s emotions. My days are jam-packed with individual sessions and client interactions that are not only amazingly fulfilling but they are professionally enriching. I can honestly say that the actual “work” that I do is absolutely what I need to be doing. So where is the bad right? The bad comes… in all shapes and sizes… usually those shapes and sizes look a whole lot like humans. Worker humans not client humans!

So here I am completely adoring my job and my clients and there are all of these outside factors making it bitter-sweet to go to work. This week has been especially difficult as more changes are happening. This week we are saying goodbye to amazing friends who are finishing their internships. This week we are opening the doors to new counselors. Then on top of it all we have to deal with personality clashes that overshadow the real meaning behind this week; the real meaning behind the work that we do. All these changes are difficult. I can imagine if they are difficult for me… how difficult are they for our clients?

I’m pretty sure I’ve said before that I don’t like change. There’s a lot of changes this week. Some good, some not so good. So as I sit here and take a deep breath in I can only hope that all these changes turn out for the best. Now more than ever I am absolutely thankful that I have such a solid foundation at home. Being able to come back to a peaceful environment where I feel at ease is what I need this week. Some additional part-time entertainment is bound to help too… ;)

Until next time…

Clutter!

Ever since I did the clean up in my house… Any little clutter kills me! Tonight my parents came over for dinner and while cooking the picture below happened! I learned that even with a little clutter life memories can be formed… And I loved it!

A little piece of haven…

No… I didn’t mis-spell that… Today I realized how lucky I am… I got home to a clean home and a gorgeous husband. I felt the need to contribute to the cleaning feeling so i got a burst of energy and began with my new year’s resolution of de-cluttering my home!
The hubby was an amazing helper. He broke down boxes, shredded paper, and didn’t even complain! After a few gruesome hours of hard work and our recycling bin filled we finished. We ate dinner. We rested. We felt soooo accomplished. Finally our home is so close to how we want it to be.
So I leave you with a little corner of my universe. This is located halfway up the stairs in my house… The hat box is filled with the most amazing wedding memories a girl could wish for. The books are work books, inspirational books and just plain fun stuff. The card is the thank you card I received from my cousin’s wedding… It’s a beautiful card and it reminds me of our gorgeous day almost 3 years ago!
Until next time…

Hate is a strong word…

Today’s picture tells you about a place that I strongly dislike going to. You see I personally do not have anything agaisnt this home improvement store; I just don’t like going there.
I get bored there. I’m lucky enough to have a relatively new house that doesn’t need much improvement… But even if it did… I don’t think I would enjoy visits to this particular store.
Let’s start with the restrooms… They have them all the way at the BACK of the store… That’s not girl friendly!
Then you have all the wood, studs (not the cute boy kind!), and screws! BLAH!
Then you have the plants (who knows how many bugs are in there! I don’t like bugs, or birds- but that’s a post for another day- I have a valid reason!)
There isn’t one thing at this place that I enjoy looking at. You can’t window shop at the home improvement store… Well you can… BUT you actually have to BUY a window… Again not too fun. So today I went to a home improvement store… I walked all the way to the back, used the potty and proceeded to walk back to my car… And then I ATE a very yummy IKEA chocolate bar… Now that’s a place catering to girls… Down comforters and chocolate… Now we are talking!!!
Until next time…
